Typograph-Me Essay

For this project, I used words I felt helped show the real me. I started with a main total of six instead of the five required, but upon noticing I needed to add more to offset the symmetry of the project, I added one more. I aimed to have a good sense of flow and contrast between words, though for Honest and Bisexual, I did point them in the same direction and make them about the same size, hoping to display that they are connected, because I'm honest about who/what I am. I made Honest take on a shadow, as sometimes, the truth does hurt, but it's always best to let the truth be known, and in color made it purple and green, simply because they're my favorite colors. As for Bisexual, I set it on a wavy line to show the idea of "both ways" and even colored it so it looked like the bisexual flag for the color version. As for Nerdy and Geeky, I used Jedi font to display that side of me well. I made it big and even made it look like the title does on the posters for Star Wars, just to prove my nerdy/geekyness. And to bump that effect more, made it the bright yellow of the typical letters in the films. For Loyal, I used a sort of Grafitti font because the letters seem to interlock in some way, and they're sticking together. I even made the color on it a pattern like stars in color, because I feel loyalty knows no bounds. The idea of it reaching beyond the stars came to mind. And finally, Unique. It's rather wild looking, especially in color with its odd pattern. But I did one more subtle little thing to make it the Unique word on the project. It is the only word used that uses lowercase letters. As for putting the words together, I just took my time and tried to make a nice flow and astheticly pleasing project. It took a bit of work to make it actually asymmetrical, and I'm glad with how it turned out.
